Most people think a senior season is about the big moments, the walk-off hits, the rivalry wins, the final game under the lights.
But for the seniors on the softball team, this season has felt different. It’s been less about the highlights and more about everything in between.
It’s the last time walking onto the field with the same groups that have been there through every early practice and long game. The last time hearing the same music playing from the dugout. The last time putting on a uniform that, over the years, has come to mean more than just a jersey.

Senior Varsity Softball Player, Alexa Lacomis, states, “This season so far has been a great experience, and I’m really going to miss being around all my teammates every day.”
As the season continues, the end is getting closer. And while that reality is hard to face, it’s also what makes every moment feel more important.
Every practice, every inning, every small joke in the dugout carries a little more weight now. Things that once felt routine suddenly feel like something to hold onto. Even the tough losses and long bus rides mean more because there aren’t many of them left.
For these seniors, it’s not just about how the season ends. It’s about everything they’ve built along the way—the friendships, the memories, the feeling of being part of something bigger than themselves.
And when the final game does come, it won’t just mark the end of a season. It will mark the end of a chapter that shaped who they are, both on and off the field.
That’s what makes a senior season so meaningful—not just the big moments everyone sees, but all the ones in between that you wish you could hold onto just a little longer.
