The Impact of Coach Mace

Coach Kristy Mace, formerly known as Coach Mastropietro, was a coach for the Norwalk Youth Field Hockey League and the NHS JV Field Hockey team. Coach M attended Norwalk High School where she played both field hockey and softball, and Keene State College where she continued her athletic career playing field hockey. After college, Coach M decided to come back to Norwalk High School, and along with a career teaching special education students, it was a no-brainer for her to coach field hockey too.

Coach M’s dedication to the Norwalk Field Hockey Program is easily admirable, and her kindness and understanding have allowed her to foster deep bonds with her players. This year, Coach M’s first youth league group she ever coached is graduating. To say that this is a monumental moment for her would be an understatement, as it is a reminder of all her hard work and dedication towards the program.

We got a chance to have a conversation with Coach M, as well as some of her graduating players, about her dedication to the program and how she has impacted the athletes she’s coached. Watch the video to learn about two different perspectives on Coach M’s dedication, from her own eyes to those of the athletes she’s inspired.
