With the girls soccer season coming to an end, Norwalk High was trying to get their first win of the season and on their second to the last game against Bridgeport Central they were able to get their first win of the season. The team knew they had to get a win before the season ends because this was going to be the seniors final game as a Bear for girls soccer. For the last four years seniors Reily McGovern, Jennifer Dawson, Ashley Reyes, Lindsay Martinez, Lizzy Montenegro, Hilvana Flores and Stefano Ramirez have been apart of the team since their freshmen year and they have seen the teams development change every single year. They were all never able to experience going to the playoffs but they were all able to build a really strong relationship that’s lasted forever and what’s been keeping the team going from the beginning to start.
Norwalk High vs Bridgeport Central started off slow in the first 30 minutes then Norwalk High eventually started scoring and it just kept going on from there. The girls were scoring goals back to back and ended the game with a score of 9:1. As soon as the game ended the girls all came together hugged the coach and started running on the field celebrating. This win meant more than just a win it was for the seniors who are graduating which was going to be one of their last games and wanted to make it count. Girls Soccer play their final game on October 18 against Darien, make sure to go and support our team while the seniors play their final games as a Bear!
