Going Bald for a Great Cause

On May 21st, Norwalk High club Bears Beating Cancer had its annual St. Baldrick’s event. This was their first St. Baldrick’s event since Covid-19 put everyone in quarantine. About 20 people shaved their heads and the club raised $10,000 making it a very successful event. When interviewing Mr. Anastasia, the club advisor and a shavee, he said “The money we raised goes to cancer awareness and helps cancer research. If shaving my head helps people out then I’d gladly do it again.” All of the shavees shaved their heads for a great cause which greatly shows their empathy for others. Hopefully next year more people come out to this event and shave their heads!
