The Norwalk Boys Volleyball Team has had a great season, and it has been led by Coach Tsaparakis. Better known as Tsap, Coach has led the boys to their best season, and has a lot of appreciation for his seniors who have been with him through thick and thin. We had a chance to talk to Coach Tsap and got his opinion on what his seniors do best, and what he sees in them.
We first asked Coach, which seniors on the team had the best serve, the best set, and the best spike. After pondering for a moment, Tsap gave credit to Kostaki Papakosmas as the best serving senior, Kevin Mejia as the best setting senior and Ethan Archila as the best spiking senior. This trio he said, was a dangerous threat in all these categories. We also wanted to know which senior he thought had stepped up the most this year as a player. He stated that Luis Gomez, his middle, had stepped up the most his year, and that he had had a great season so far.
Now that we know about what Coach Tsap thinks of these seniors as players, lets see what he has to say about them as people. We wanted to know who he thought could succeed past high school, and go on to play in college and maybe even the pros. He gave that honor to Elkan Cabucco, and said he believed and hoped he could have a future career in the sport. Next, We wanted to know which senior had had the biggest impact on him as a person. He thought for a moment, before saying that Isaac Zapata was the senior who he feels has had the biggest impact on him, and that he could relate to him on a “deeper level.” Finally, we wanted to know which senior he thinks would visit him in the future. Coach Tsap stated, “I hope, and it better be, Allen (Fountain).”
