The Norwalk Boys Volleyball team is currently 6-5. Both JV and Varsity teammates make sure each other grow as both athletes and people. The coach for varsity is Mr.Tsaparakis, also known as Tsap. He is a math teacher here at Norwalk High. Tsap said ‘The goals we have this season are to play how we practice, we need to be able to pass at a high intensity to make sure we we are able to run our offense aggressively.” Tsap has high expectation for his boys and wants them to be successful. One of the captains Tiago Morales said “Being a part of this team, I enjoy how we all get a long and being like a family, having each other backs.” The players are always showing how they care for each other and will always be there for each other.
Their strengths are being able to run a more high octane offense with speed, precision, and deadlines. They are able to pass a 2 or 3 point pass to their setter and he’s able to run offense how he wants. The players all have different goals for myself this seasons but as a team they have goals that they are expected to do as a team and not just for myself. Their goals this season is to get better and to train hard at practice and to get better on things what need to improve on. These goal will help them improve not just as a players but as a whole team. By just improving as a team it makes them more closer together and it will allow them to have fun when you play and that someone will always be there and if you make a mistake; someone will be there to keep your head up high. Tiago said “Volleyball had taught me how to control your emotions through out the game.”
Sports will always get the best of people be as you learn more about the sport and learn how to play you will be able to control your emotions and not let your emotions ruin your love of the sports. Even if you make a mistake never let it get in your head and always have a mind set of a fish forget about it in 3 seconds and move on and be the best player you can be on the court. Hopefully the boys can get some more wins. Tsap is a great coach and he is always pushing his player to be the best they can be. The boys are going to continue to keep pushing and pushing to get where they want to be. They are always wanting to be the best they can be and wanting to win and hopefully move on to big and better things. We hope to see you at a boys volleyball home and and we want to see you cheering loud for them. Let’s Go Boys Volleyball!!
