September 13th, the Bears kicked off the new season against New Milford and it ended as a loss 39/27. Despite losing the game, the Bears did a great job staying in the game and not giving up. Quarterback, Mason Riina went 18/28 for 185 yards, 64 completion percentage, averaging 10.3 yards per pass and 3 touchdowns, 1 interception. He also rushed for 11 yards in 7 carries, averaging 1.6 yards with his longest run being 8 yards. Two of the touchdowns he threw went to wide receiver, Kevin Gordon  .The other touchdown went to sophomore, Gavin Riina, who is the brother of Mason Riina who is now playing with his brother after growing up with him playing football.

Naz Grant (Nico B)

Now going into his final year as a bear, Senior Wide Receiver/Cornerback Nazaiah Grant is trying to make this year count before he continues his football journey to college. He is currently second in his team for leading tackles and is averaging 7 tackles per game. Being the tackle leader for his team was one of his goals this season. His other goal being a good leader after being chosen as one of the team captains this season. As a leader he feels like his job is to help lead the new players coming into varsity and hopefully helping them become better players. So far he’s improved a lot from last year. He was eight on his team in tackles and with half their players gone from last year he is now seeking the opportunity to get his goal and lead the team in tackles.

Deshaun Morgan

Deshaun Morgan who plays Defensive End for the Norwalk High has been a starter on varsity since his sophomore year and is just getting his season started. Deshaun stats for this year is (14 solo tackles, 11 assisted tackles, 25 tot tackles and 1 sack) .  So far he is the leading his team in tackles just above Nazaiah Grant and he is looking to continue that so it will be good to see who will finish with the most tackles by the end of the season since they both have the same goal in leading their team in tackles.
