Ryan competed at 182 pounds. He was an FCIAC runner-up and placed third in Class LL and the Open. This season Ryan has a personal goal of winning county, division, and states. Along with that Brendan hopes to win FCIACS and states while being undefeated. They will lead the team by leading by example and being good role models. The brothers teammate junior Nick Fatone has been wrestling with the Gilchrist brothers for six years. Nick says “Brendan and Ryan are always pushing our teammates to be better and are always trying to make the best with what we’ve got.”

So far the Bears have had a meet against Wilton. Ryan and Brendan both beat Wilton in the first period. As a team NHS beat Wilton 66-9. This Saturday December 17, the team has a tournament at Fairfield Ludlowe. Good luck to Brendan, Ryan, and the NHS wrestling team for the rest of their 2023 season.
