Swimming Into History

The Norwalk Boys Swim and Dive team had a phenomenal season! Multiple records were broken: the 20o medley relay record, 200 free relay record, 400 free relay record, 200 IM record, and the 100 freestyle record.

At FCIACS they came in third overall, which is the first time in history!!!!  FICAC finals started off with a powerful stand as the 200 medley relay came in third overall! Kalen Anbar, Kris Flores, Finn Cunniffe, and Mike Kvashuck, also have the 200 medley relay record. Mike Kvashuck, a sophomore, also won both of his individual events- the 100 and 50-yard freestyle. Not only did he win, but he also broke Norwalk highschool’s 100-yard freestyle record! That’s not all! Kalen Anbar, a junior, came in third in the 200 yard IM and Kris Flores, a sophomore, came in 6th in the 100-yard butterfly. Giancarlo Colistra, a junior, came in 6th in the 500-yard freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay also came in 6th! The meet finished off with Kalen Anbar winning 100-yard backstroke and the 400 freestyle relay coming in fourth!

At Diving FCIACS, Ben Bradley, a junior, came in third overall! He is hoping to medal at states and qualify for state opens.

Their season is not over yet! This weekend they will compete at states and next weekend they will compete at state opens. They are looking to make history for the Norwalk Boys Swim and Dive program! Run by Head Coach Mr. Minnocci, Assitant Coach Mr. Zeajdel, Assistant Coach Mrs. Barone, and Head Coach for diving Mrs. Guster.
