Starting her athletic career, Kaelyn Fogelson has become arguably one of the best female athletes to enter and graduate from Norwalk High School. At Norwalk, she played three sports, Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse before graduating early to begin her next step at Fairfield University for D1 Field Hockey. Her athletic accolades are like no other, being covered in her two seasons of basketball, three in lacrosse, and four years in field hockey.
During her time in high school, Fogelson was included in multiple sports which showcased her athleticism. Not only was she a standout in her sports but in school as well. Kaelyn was an exemplary student with high honors each quarter, being a member of the National Honor Society and graduating early with an outstanding GPA. She was able to gather the credits with in-school, and online classes to graduate early, beginning her journey at Fairfield University during the second semester.
“Kaelyn from freshman to senior year as an athlete has really evolved, but her work ethic has always been there.” says her former coach the past four years, Coach Seaburg
Through the years, Kaelyn has been awarded with state recognition, coaches, and more. She began high school starting varsity for field hockey, earning All-State and All-FCIAC in just her freshman year. Kaelyn went on to become a 4x All-State and 4x All-FCIAC award recipient, raising the bar for Norwalk’s Field Hockey program. Not only was she successful in field hockey, but lacrosse too, with being recognized with FCIAC honorable mention both her freshman and junior year, and MVP her freshman year during the annual McMahon v Norwalk game.
“There is going to be hard times ahead, but Kaelyn isn’t afraid to do difficult.”- Coach Seaburg on Kaelyns journey to D1 Field Hockey.
Beyond her stats and accolades, Kaelyn left a lasting legacy through her leadership and commitment on and off the field. Regardless of whether it was in school, or on the field, her presence never went unnoticed, being a driven student-athlete. As a team captain, she led by example by modeling hard work, accountability, and sportsmanship. Her dedication has set new standards for the athletes competing under Norwalk High, abiding by her example of being able to exceed the standards she was given during her time as a student-athlete.
