As the fall season comes to an end the fall athletes, seniors specifically would like to thank Mr. Marchetti for all he’s done over the course of the years. Mr. Marchetti does a great amount of work and doesn’t receive the recognition. He works day and night making sure everything is perfect. Mr. Marchetti is not only our athletic director he is also a teacher at Norwalk High School and our pool director.
Mr. Marchetti has to complete many tasks everyday to make sure everything goes smoothly. He is the man behind the scenes from making sure the teams get to their destinations to fixing the pool to make it perfect for the swim and dive teams. His schedule is more complex than most. He spends all his time making sure the pool is safe for our swim and dive team, with this Mr. Marchetti goes under the pool for any fine tuning. He makes sure all of the teams have a scheduled time and field to practice on, and play on, whether it’s home or away. In order to accommodate various sports he makes sure that no teams feel overlooked, when it comes to twitter coverage and updating teams gear, he gets it all. This process requires lengthy hours and numerous revisions. His hard work behind the scenes ensures that athletes and coaches have the time and space they need to excel.
Over the years, Mr. Marchetti has been able to always find a way to balance being our athletic director, and having a family at home that allows him to keep Norwalk High’s athletics to the level and standard. Our school has recently undergone construction, tearing the field apart and leaving him to figure out where and what time teams will be able to practice. He was able to communicate with the McMahon director and schedule home football games so it doesn’t clash with McMahon athletics on their home turf.
Recognizing the dedication that Mr. Marchetti has to Norwalk High athletics, we appreciate all he has done for Norwalk High School over the years of being the athletic director.
