Diving into 2024

Introducing the captains and their expectations for the season.

As the winter sports season gets closer, let’s take look at the boys swim team and what they’re doing to prepare for this upcoming season. We had the chance to reach out to the 2023-24 season captains Mike Kvashchuk and Jaxson Mcquaid to hear first hand about the work these boys have been putting in to get ready for this season.

Looking at last season, the boys swim team had some ups and downs. They had some well fought meets against rival teams and took every loss as an opportunity to learn something new and get faster in the pool. Their record was 9-1 during the 2022-2023 season and this year they look to improve their overall performance and each individually contribute to help them progress in post season meets.

Hearing from captain Mike Kvashchuk himself he is, “Grateful to be named captain of the team that I have been apart of for the past 3 years. I am very excited for the new opportunities and memories this season will bring us. A lot of our swimmers do club so we swim year round. For the swimmers that don’t do club we encourage them to workout on their own or swim on their own time.”

Other captain Jaxson Mcquaid expressed how he will contribute to the team this year and set an example for the other swimmers and divers on the team. He says, “To contribute to the team I plan to motivate the boys to do the best they can and do my part diving and winning every important meet I need to perform in.”
